Which label goes where?
| Item | Best label | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Water bottle | Large waterproof sticker | Wrap on a flat section, not over a seam |
| Lunchbox | Lunchbox label | Lid corner β visible when stacked |
| Uniform & PE kit | Stick-on tag label or iron-on | Stick-on for speed, iron-on for 60Β°C washes |
| Shoes & wellies | Shoe pair labels | Under the tongue or on the insole heel |
| Books & stationery | Medium/mini stickers | Inside front cover survives longest |
| Care home clothing | Large-print iron-on | Inside back collar or hem β laundry teams check there first |
Fonts
Classic β clear and rounded, teachers' favourite. Playful β chunky and friendly. Handwritten β soft and personal. Fancy β flowing script, lovely for water bottles (less ideal for very long names).
Getting the strongest stick
Clean, dry, room-temperature surfaces. Press firmly for 10 seconds. Wait 24 hours before the first wash. That's it β the adhesive does the rest.
π‘ Rule of thumb for pack sizes: one child starting school typically uses 40β60 labels across uniform, bottle, lunchbox, shoes and stationery. The 60-pack or the Back-to-School Mega Pack covers it comfortably.
